How tight do you tighten the oil cooler on. I think that I tighten it too much when we put the engine back together after the rebuild. I have some oil leaks in the vincinity of the oil filter and I am thinking that the O-ring for the oil cooler got twised when we put the oil cooler on too tight. I haven't have time to check it out yet, probably I can check it this weekend.

I'm not sure of the torque spec on the oil cooler but check out your oil temp. sender; had to replace mine recently due to a leak.

I just checked my GM Shop Manual and it says to torque to 15ft-lb; overtorquing could cut the rubber gasket. Also gasket must be installed dry, free of oil or dirt.

I installed mine to "tight" by hand, but not over tight at all. Basically as tight as you would install an oil filter. I did wipe a finger of oil over it though to keep it from turning over when I tightened it like I do on filters.

:D :D I'll let you know real soon!

I had evidence of oil leak on the wires close to the oil cooler, checked it and tightened it a quarter turn with a big bar!

If it gets better, then tighten real tight! If it get's worse, leave it looser!

I'll get under mine in the am and let you know what I find

Finally got to use a friend heated garage to chek my oil leak today. I guess we forgot to put the gasket in . Pulled one of the gasket from the oil filter and installed it back in hand tight. I didn't read the shop manual at all . Test drie it tonight to see any oil leak out :D . Still havesome transmission oil leak issue, but sure feel good driving the car after almost two year on jack stands.

How long does it take for the radiator to burb(sp)? After replacing the heater core, I am still filling up the reservoir its been more than a gallon now  .

I replaced all new sensors when we put the engine back together so I don't think it the problem yet. I hope all my problems from now on are minor. I am getting tired of fixing this car  .

Sounds like you're tracking. Just keep an eye out for awhile. My cooler nut backed off some and started leaking. As stated above, just torque slightly and keep checking. I haved started checking the cooler assembly during oil changes by just gripping cooler portion and making sure the thing is snug. I worry too much.
