my latest in my saga to fix or at least identify all that is wrong with my 86!.
today i was up under the lower driver dash trying to trouble shoot my HVAC vacuum since my doors dont move regardless of setting.
I ran across this opaque plug that had nothing plugged to it!! it is on the outside of steering column as seen in the picture.
can anyone identify what it is / where the plug might be? it has a larger rubber hose going into it other and can also be seen in the pic.
2 side question:
passenger side lower up under dash, went to replace non working light, and found no plug!!! or wire in the area where it would be?
thoughts? what / where does this opaque unplugged switch control?
Is your cruise control working? The switch is Brake Pedal Cruise Control Vacuum Switch. It turns the cruise off when you hit the brake pedal.... unless the cruise isnt working and then it will do nothing.

Thanks for the response!!
YES the cruise control does work normally.
Cant seem to find a plug that would go to that item..
I don't think anything goes there. It is a vacuum breaker for the cruise control servo. It quickly dumps vacuum when you press the brake. I'll check my parts car.
