I gave it a 1 second burst of ether, then started the car. It fired right up and ran for a few seconds. So I think we've narrowed it down to the injectors not firing (also confirmed by the noid light).
When you tried the noid light were all the Injectors disconnected? If not try that and
see if one drawing it down

With vehicle in a nostart mode still measure injector resistance again just to be sure
Make sure still have power there too

No, I did them one at a time. But I ohm'ed all of the injectors with a DMM and they were all within spec... so are you suggesting that I need to do this on top of that?

Not sure I understand. You're saying to ohm the injectors again, but with the key in the run position?

Suggesting checking when in a failed condition. The Injectors shorted when hot in the video. Only saw low resistance when in failure mode.

A long overdue update... The car is finally fixed. I hate to have to turn things over to a professional mechanic, but after replacing all of the parts discussed in this thread, I still had no start. So I had to shell out to get it fixed, but I also learned some things...

The VATS unit itself had failed. He replaced it with this: https://newrockies.com/

Apparently, I am *supposed* to have a second horn under the hood specific to the security system. Mine was removed at some point in the life of the car... so when the VATS module failed, it was triggering the alarm, which didn't actually sound because the horn wasn't there.

So, I ended up spending a lot more than I needed to, between his labor, and all the unnecessary parts I replaced-- but there's a whole lotta new under the hood now, so hopefully I won't have any more serious problems for a while.

Thank you to all of you who contributed to this thread with advice and suggestions-- I really appreciate your help!
