One of the reasons we have the "Profile" is so that anybody can put all the pertinent information there so when they have a problem some of us can look up your Corvette and know where to start helping you.
Does your Speedometer display 0 mph while the Corvette is moving?
You should give us as much information as you have about your Corvette and the issues that are plaguing it. Mileage, coupe or Convertible and mileage on Corvette. Any modifications should also be listed.
The throttle body of your Corvette has an Idle Air Control (IAC) and a Throttle Position Sensor (TPS) and most likely one of these two devices is the culprit. When was the last tune up performed on your Corvette? The instructions for replacing or re-adjusting these devices is in the FSM's
For those of us who have C4 Corvettes we find that having a set of the Factory Service Manuals (FSM) are required to help keep the Corvette on the road. They are available from Helm's Publishing and they make them for each year. The two books that make up my 1988 C4 were about $90. I have seen them on DVD for a lot less if that works for you. Another useful tool will be a Fuel pressure Gauge and lastly a Code Reader for OBD1 vehicles. The code reader displays trouble codes which making repairs a bit easier.
There are so many knowledgeable folks here willing to share their expertise in Corvettes. Give us as much information regarding the "problem" and you will get much more specific answers identifying the issue and how to fix it.
