Default Selective Ride Control

Just reinstalled 3 SRC actuators on my 1990 vette that I had rebuilt. Was getting codes 31,33,34. After installing the rebuilt actuators I'm still getting code 31, (left front out of position). Shock gear is not broken and turns freely from stop to stop. Gear in the actuator turns when ignition is switched to on and I triple checked to make sure the actuator is seated properly on the cup and the retaining clip is installed correctly. I've cleared the codes as per 8A of the FSM. When I start the car the light comes on and stays on and stores the same code,(31). I've even driven the car to see if the light would go out. Diagnostic chart for code 31 in the FSM indicates it's either a bad actuator or bad shock and neither one seems bad. Could the SRC module be bad? Also when clearing the codes I notice the light does not go out. If I further ground after the clearing procedure the light stays on but doesn't flash any codes, not even 12. Is that correct? Does that mean there are no codes stored? Should the light go out after clearing?

The light will come on and not got off if you don't drive the car after reset. It IS possible to install the actuators 180 degrees out. Make sure that is not the case. Also check CCM codes.

Yes, that is possible. I had a similar issue and after verifying shocks and actuators (even replaced one actuator), it turned out to be the module.

Check everything else again first. And, trying to clear the code is difficult.

If it doesn't go out after driving the car, it could still be a bad actuator. Try swapping actuators and see if the problem follows the actuator or stays at that shock.
