Last night, I took a two hr drive on the interstate with cruise set at 80mph. When I got off the i-state, the tranny started acting up. Stopped at a stop light, then when I started going (normal driving, no heavy acceleration), the tranny didn't shift into 2nd until 3000rpm, then it shifted very hard. Same thing shifting into 3rd, 2800-3000rpm, shifted very hard. Stopped at next light, then when I started going, the tranny started out in either 2nd or 3rd, it didn't shift back down to 1st when I stopped. I pulled over and checked the fluid, it was a little low, and I had some tranny fluid with me, so I added fluid and started again. When I shifted into park, it had gone down to 1st, but if I stopped and didn't shift into park or reverse, it wouldn't shift down to 1st.
I have never had any tranny problems before, and as I mentioned, it just started when I got off the interstate.
I wish some of you that have tranny probs lived near me so I could get my hands on these cars......... You're probably gonna be pulling the trans but if you were near I could save you a bunch of money........ anyway I hope it works out for you ok
Mike  :seeya
How many miles on this transmission? Does the fluid smell burnt? How does it act when the fluid is cold? How are the shifts if you manualy shift it. I don't trust tranny shops so maybe you have a good a mechanic, but my quess is that any shop you take it to is going to recommend a rebuild.
