Default Air Bag Light is On

My mechanic replaced the horn cancel cam, horn, and battery on my 1996. All looked good until a few days later. The Air Bag light came on then. I ran a scan and that showed no codes. Then I pulled the front seat cushion and checked all connectors that were tight. Not sure if that mattered anyway.

Any advice please and thank you in advance.

I did try the forum search and found nothing.

It sounds like your clocking coil for your airbag got out of time, it's been over wound during the repair and snapped the Ribbon inside.

I made an error in my description. Used a odb2 scanner to diagnose. Showed no present codes. Ran all diagnostic tests. All ok. Then I reset which did nothing as expected. Thanks for reply.

Yeascanning the ECM/PCM wont give you the airbag codes.

I’m with Carter on the ribbon. But worthwhile to remove the airbag to make sure the connector is still seated.
