Just put my injectors back in and was finishing up, when I realized I can't locate one of the vacuum lines that goes to the throttle body. On the right of the throttle body on my 88, right behind the throttle position sensor, there are two lines, the top one goes to the valve cover. Can anyone tell me where the bottom one goes? I can't even find a hose laying loose anywhere, its got me baffled. Appreciate any help, thanks.
Re: Throttle body vacuum line question (Bob88Convertible)
Bob..Yours is in a different location than mine. Mine is at mid - intake manifold, pass side. Someone should jump in here that knows exactly. If all fails, follow the purge line (outbound) from your vapor canister and it should terminate @ the solenoid......
Re: Throttle body vacuum line question (Bob88Convertible)
Bob88,
Is it the vacuum line that's about 1/4" in diameter with a 90* elbow where it attaches to the pass side of the TB? If so, it runs under the plenum to the drivers side, where it runs along the fenderwell up to the vapor canister. If you need more detail let me know and I'll go look again. :seeya
Re: Throttle body vacuum line question (Bob88Convertible)
Seems like all the throttle bodies are not alike. Here's a pic. Note the two tubes right behind the throttle position sensor. The top one goes to the valve cover. Bottom one????? Thanks for the help.
Re: Throttle body vacuum line question (Bob88Convertible)
Bob, it doesn't look like my IM response went through so here it is.
Like the guys said, there is a 90deg elbow from that lower right TB vacuum fitting into a hard 1/4" dia vacuum line that runs under the fuel lines and the front of the plenum past the rear of the alternator to the left fender well. From there it runs forward to a unit just above and the the right of the fuel vapor canister.
There is also a smaller hard plastic vacuum line from under the TB that runs parallel to it.
BTW, that TB looks like the one on my '88 (except for the EO # :yesnod:) so the setup should be the same.
