I have a 1985 with Z51 suspension. I am interested in you opinions on whether to go with the Bilstein shock replacements or another Brand.
I am also thinking of replacing all the bushings. Should I go with polyurethane or stay with the traditional rubber bushings.
Part numbers and kits numbers would be greatly appreciated.
I like Bilsteins myself... Ive used KYB and Koni adjustables... theyre ok, but the Bilsteins seem to work well on the C4's Ive had.
As far as rubber bushings, I think only sway bar bushings are available in rubber versions. Youll have to go with Poly or there is a new type out now but I cant remember the name right now... Im sure someone else will chime in..

SuperPro is what you're thinking of, I'm sure. They are a type of polyurethane, but it's more compliant that tradition poly bushings. Rubber bushings aren't available now. For the front you have lots of options from fairly soft (SuperPro) to very hard and precise (Global West Del A Alum). It depends on how you want to use the car. In the rear, don't use traditional poly - you'll introduce bind because all links move in two arcs. SuperPro is probably the best option for a street-only car, and rod-end links like Banski are a great answer if you want the more precise but less cushioned joints for competition use.
