Cleaning question
Last night I changed out the weather stripping around the rear window. A pretty easy job by the way.
When I removed the old piece there is this tan colored glue on there that doesn't dry. It has a grease like texture. Of course I got a little on my hands and tried my best not to get it on the car. But of course I did. I tried to get it off with soap and water and it just moves it around.
What cleaner should I use that will remove it and not hurt the clear coat?
Thank you
Doug

I would try a little Dawn dish-washing detergent. It is one of the best things for cutting grease and is not potentially harmful to the paint.
I use simple green a lot for cleaning the engine, suspension and the wheels but I would be very careful with it on a painted surface. Don't leave it on for more than few seconds and rinse it off very thoroughly.

Funny thing about simple green....I had one of my DD sit for a couple of months and there was black stuff on the paint (was under a tree). I'm giving it to one of my sons. I washed it with a bucket of simple green which took a good amount off, I told my son to get the simple green and a rag and wash off the remaining black stuff. Now to wash(car soap), clay and coats of polish (zaino)
