1996 turn signal question
Replaced bulbs, front and back and the cornering bulbs.
Lights on, turn on left signal, blinker bulbs go solid, cornering light on the front comes on and cornering light on the rear does not.
Lights off, turn on signal, blinker bulbs go solid.
Same issue on the right side. Do I have the wrong brake bulbs?
Brake lights work.
WTH??

Got the right brake light bulbs and turn signals. They are not working!
But the rear cornering lights don't come on when the blinker is turned on. They didn't have those bulbs and the bulbs in there fit and are not burned. But still they could be wrong ones.
Will check later.
turn signal bulbs are dual element 1 for stop/turn function the other is for running lights. The bulbs use a common ground. If socket ground circuit failure leads to feedback.
reverse, high level stop, cornering, and side marker are single element bulbs.
All four of the taillight bulbs are 1157s (dual-element, as Kevova said). Front turn signals are also 1157s, just amber.
Your car doesn't have "rear turning lights." It has red corner bulbs (#24) that come on with the parking lights and headlights, and it has side-facing reverse light indicators (1156). That can be confusing since there are similar-looking assemblies on the front that do come on with the turn signals (#24 blinks in time with the front signals with the parking/headlights off, and out-of-time with them with the parking/headlights on; 1156 comes on with the turn signals if the parking/headlights are on).
Good luck.
I used the standard bulbs that the clerk at autozone looked up in the parts list. They all worked. Amazing huh?
