Depends on the C6 wheels backspacing. I put C5 wheels on my 84 which is the same as your 87. I used hub centric adapters. I personally would not use spacers.

Here is a Chart that will give you the size adapters you need. https://www.corvettecentral.com/wheel-offset

Most the 9.5" C6 rims (it's either front or rear, I forget) have +40mm offset. '87 stock 9.5" rim has +38 mm, IIRC.
Can either go with the +40mm or put a small +2mm plate in.

Starting to think maybe stock is +36mm, since I got some +4mm plates...or was it +2mm plates...stupid memory!!

I had to put spacers on the front to use C6Z wheels.

Thin ones on the front, I can't remember how thick I had to go before they stopped rubbing, no more than 1/4". The C6Z wheels are also 18x10.5 in the front and 19x12 in the rear.
I think I had to use like a 1 or 1.5" for the rear.

C4 1984-1987
16"x9.5" 38mm ( 255/50-16 )

C4 ZR1
17"x11" 36mm ( 315/35-17 )

C6 2005-2013 ( Z06 )
18"x9.5" 40mm ( 275/35-18 )
19"x12" 59mm ( 325/30-19 )

2 mm is nothing so C6 Z06 fronts should fit front and rear on the 84-87 C4.

The rears are probably too wide.

The C4 ZR1 just fit. The Z06 rears would probably need a 35 mm adapter to clear on the inside and then they will stick out one inch more than the ZR1 rears.

Is that on the "Kart" thing? You only have to space out enough to clear whatever. With fenders you have more to consider
From the picture it seems like the rear stick out quite a lot from where the door used to be. Do you have early or late suspension? ( 1984-1987 or 1988-1996 )

There were a number of different C6 wheels, with different widths and offsets. Instead of us guessing which ones the OP has and taking shots in the dark about spacers, let's have him tell us exactly which wheels he has or is thinking of, and then we can tell him exactly. For 84-87 C4s, stock 16x8.5 wheels had 32mm offset and stock 16x9.5 had 36mm 38mm offset. Some examples of C6 wheels:
  • 18x8.5 et 56 fronts: will need 1" spacers.
  • 19x10 et79 rears: will need around 1.7" spacers.
  • 18x9.5 et40 (Z06) fronts: could probably get away with no spacer, but they will be set in a teeny bit and you may prefer 1/8" spacer.
  • 19x12 et59 (Z06) rears: won't fit under stock fenders, will need about 0.82" spacers to clear on the inside.

It was once a plain jane 1989 Corvette. The C6 wheels were purchased before the car was gutted. A lot of things were done to the car prior to the body being removed.
I didn't get any miles on the C6 wheels, though. I just fit them, bought spacers, and fit them again. The tires that were on them when I bought them were completely trashed and weren't capable of being driven on.
The wheels didn't go back on with the new tires until after the transformation.

The rear spacers that are on them now are twice as thick as the ones I originally had on it.

I don't think so. I'm pretty sure those are from 2006-2008 in sizes:
  • 18x8.5 et 56 fronts: will need 1" spacers.
  • 19x10 et79 rears: will need around 1.7" spacers.
That is, these are the specs if those are legit original equipment Corvette wheels. If they're reproductions, then all bets are off. You should look on the back of the spokes for stampings that verify the exact size and offset. It's the only way we can give you certain advice. If you're not sure what numbers you're looking at back there, take pics and post them and we can help you sort it out.

There you go.
  • So to get the exact fender placement as stock, the front will want 24mm spacers (56mm-32mm). 1" (25.4mm) is completely fine, or you have wiggle room to space them a little wider with thicker spacers if you want (you can set them in a little, too, but that looks a little odd).
  • For the rear, the stock 9.5 had 38mm offset (I was off by 2mm previously, and I'll go back and correct that post). To center your 10" rears in the same location as stock 9.5s, you'll need 41mm spacers (1.61"). With that, you're getting pretty close on the inside, but you could push them outside a little more if you wanted, so perhaps 1.75" (44mm) would be easier to find and they'd work well.
I don't know what's available out there. For the rears, you're probably looking at adapters instead of spacers, so I think you might as well do adapters for the front, too. I'm sure 1" adapters for the front are plentiful, and I think 1.75" adapters will be out there as well. Show us a pic of the final product, and feel free to ask any other questions.
