Default Nedd info on AT

My car (convertible 1990 A/T) with 2,73 rear axle ratio shifts with a partial gas pedal (not at WOT) at these points:
From 1 to 2 @ 19 km/h = 12 mph
From 2 to 3 @ 41 Km/h = 25,5 mph
From 3 to OD @ 90 km/h = 56 mph

Is it normal? I live in Italy and here 99% of cars have manual transmission, so I’m not expert on Automatic transmissions.
Reading an Haines manual (84-96 corvette) I read that with an auto trans “..You can hear ..the converter locks engine to transmission at about 42 mph. .when the transmission is in 2 or 3 depending of calibration…” ???????
I can’t hear NOTHING @ 42 mph! ... which calibration??
My car shift from 1 to 2 and from 2 to 3 very fast with no hesitation. It’s very difficult to hear that the transmission is shifting.( I’m not sure if I can do the same quick shift with a manual transmission….). I repeat, I’ve no experience with A/T , but I think that the 1 to 2 and the 2 to 3 is very, very quick! The D to OD is slooooww , very slow comparing others gears. When I’m hitting the 89 km/h (55 – 56 mph) I can hear like if the clutch is sliding for a while and then I hear the the OD is in. Is this normal?
I’m coming from a complete engine rebuild … I have all out of correct ranges….
Could someone help me with a short list of parts that I should check?
TV cable… TPS…?...
Thanks.
Beppe

The speeds that you refer to are very good at part throttle. You won't experience much of a shift at part throttle because the torque converter absorbs a lot of the feeling. I would always reccomend adjusting the TV cable even if it's ok. It is supposed to be part of trans maintenance but it rarely gets adjusted unless something's wrong. :seeya

1-2, and 2-3 shift look good. My auto transmission will shift into OD at 43mph and above if I lift my foot briefly at part throttle. It will shift into OD on it's own(without me lifting) at 52mph at a steady cruise. Hope this helps.

Mine's an 88 by the way.

If I lift my right foot briefly the only result is that the acceleration slow a bit .
The OD don't come in until I reach 55 mph.

My OD CAN come in at 42 mph and if I REALLY want it to I can keep it there with TCC locked in all the way DOWN to 38 mph. Largely depends on TV cable adjustment :seeya
