IMO not the first mod more towards the last. There will be some tuning required for the increased air flow particularly low speeds... ie...stop and go traffic.
Don't waste your time and money unless you have other mods that will allow the engine to breathe better.
I have the 52mm BBK with a medium sized cam, headers, ported intake, and 3"dual exhaust and x pipe.
The BBK does not run well right out of the box for an LTx engine. Expect hesitation off idle, low idle and sometimes high idle (intermittently). IAC Counts will be all over the place. One of the problems is that the IAC circuit is completely different from the stock 48mm. BBK also doesn't center the throttle plates in the bores properly which causes the throttle to stick. This requires loosening the plate screws and centering the plates in the bores properly so they won't bind anymore.
I did quite a bit of machine work to my BBK to mimick the stock 48mm TB IAC circuit. It works well now but it required several modifications to perform correctly.
Be warned
IDK about the BBK unit. I did have someone with an LT1 that we switched back and forth doing a blind test at the strip, IOW he didn't know which run was with the stock unit or the Accel unit. He actually went slower with the 58mm one. I briefly installed the ACCEL one on a stock car and it didn't really do much as far as idling went. BBK might be different.
