Default engine removal question

I'm in the process of pulling the engine out of the 96. Where are the proper places to connect the chain to the engine. I bought one that has two matal brackets at the ends, just need to figure out where to bolt them.

You can use the intake manifold bolts. you'll need to use two in opposite corners to balance the engine. You'll also probably need to get slightly longer bolts to allow for the extra thickness of the brackets and any spacers you need. Tighten them down with the brackets on. Be careful not to bounce the thing around too much because all of that weight is on the aluminum heads.
That's how I did it on mine and had absolutely no problems.

Does that thing with two metal bracket has a level of some kind so you can adjust the balance? If it is, you need to get two chain to hook in the two metal bracket and from those two chain you have four point to hook up to the engine.

I picked mine up by the front and back of the heads. 4 points in all. Worked quite well.

did you take out the complete power train at the same time or just the engine?

I already took the tranny off. The engine is coming out by itself. The chain I have only has two brackets. I was told to pull it by the heads but just wanted to make sure.

If you only use the chain you have now, two point to connect to the engine then do like MarkBychowski wrote. That way you can pull the engine out but you can't adjust the balance of the engine while pulling it out. To make llife easier, buy a leveler so you can attach the chain with four attach point to the engine heads
