I was going to put a pair of Spicers' on my driveshaft when I do the trans oil seal and since that's what I have on the half-shafts. But I called NAPA and the guy said they only carry 'Precision' and they are just as good as Spicer. The cost is $8.65 each, that alone scares me, so I thought I would ask the pros:
Has anybody heard of this brand? Are they reliable? Or should I just find a local place that has the spicers?
Are the 'brute force' ones just what they are calling a certain kind of spicer or is it the actual brand Brute Force? If it is the actual brand Brute Force that come in the black box, those ones are crap.
I just purchased a set of Spicer U-joints (no zerk fittings) for the half shafts from Tony's Corvette for a very good price.  That's all he recommends using and the only brand they install at his shop. Plus they supposedly look exactly like the factory originals.
what did you pay for them? & your correct, they are the only joint worth using in the corvette. napco makes a decent joint as well but it's only a couple dollars less than spicer. i see no reason to take risks.
