1988 C4 no brakes
I too am blessed with a 1988 C4 Coupe and they are very different than anything I have ever seen when it comes to the brake system.
First of all we have a "one-year" only master cylinder which makes it more expensive. The Bosch ABS system is very primitive and uses three circuits, Left front, Right Front and Rear.
One day I was getting ready for a ride in the C4 and I decided to "test" the brakes. I pushed moderately hard (no harder than an emergency stop) on the brake pedal and all the sudden the pedal went to the floor. It seems that one of the lines going into the ABS Box area rusted away and broke under the pressure. I looked under the car and you could see a stream of brake fluid running out. I opened the hood and BOTH reservoir's were dry. I thought all Cars manufactured after 1964 required "dual circuit" brakes. This way if the rear opens up you would still have front brakes. NOT on the 1988 C4 it doesn't.
I ordered a set of brake lines from Classic Tube in New York and they worked out nicely. The worst was connecting the rear brakes to the tee in the lines.
You should start at one place and trace every brake line as your brake fluid had to go someplace. You might not want it to sit and eat away the finish of anything it is collecting on as it is Brake Fluid. Be sure to check the lines in the ABS box behind your drivers seat. I found a spot where the brake line looks like a snake that ate a mouse. It appears to be a low spot where the water froze inside the brake system but not hard enough to rupture the line.
The one feature of the 1988 C4 that I really like is the simple, "working" parking brake they gave it. None of the Honda brake shoes in the tiny drums like the earlier and later Corvettes came with. The 1988 is a nice Corvette and fun to drive. I have had mine 22 years now and enjoy the comforts that my 1968 C3 does not have.
