Treating + Maintaining Weatherstripping
When I was going to school, I had a friend whom I hung out with in my electronics/electrical classes....What he used to do is take his brown "engineer biker boots" and coated them with Mazola cooking oil , rubbing it in and setting by the room floor heating register overnight and wipe any non-absorbed excess away in the morning......His boots looked almost brand new and never had water intrusion and never cracked.
We lived in and around Buffalo, New York (you know, where GOD lives
) where you have all heard of the winters and, where they use salt on streets and sidewalks to melt the ice.....The chemicals and the "elements" beat the $hit out of my boots causing them to split/crack until he told me what he does, so, I tried it and it worked VERY WELL.I wonder what the results would be when applied to weatherstripping....It is NOT petroleum based so, it should be fine....Lastly, I did contact my relative and left message and will wait for return call.

You might consider doing passenger side with Mazola & driver side with 303 Aerospace and after a year let us know the results.
Yes, I know and realize that.
... not rubber weatherstripping.(correct?)
CORRECT - Yes, I know and realize that.

That makes little sense.....It was just a thought about the corn oil.....I do have a probable product but, as you say, may wait a year before I post the results....how's that?
