hi everyone new to forum have a 1985 c4 vette car stalled and ran rough scanned for dtc none present but noticed all my ecm data was reading 0 even prom id, pin tested ecm connecters and found senser ground missing added jumper ground to black wire on coolant temp senser and all reading began to work where is the ground/s located on block thank you
Invest in factory manuals lots of good information. Chevrolet uses studs on thermostat housing, intake manifold, bolt in rear of right head and left side of bell housing. Fastners should not be painted
Block ground is at the left rear of the Engine above the oil temp sender on a bellhousing bolt.
just because, I added a second ground to the frame from the alternator ground lug.
Never had a grounding issue since.
its an 86, with an alternator from a 94 corvette.
