Ok I need pics and opinions on lifts. I only have an eight foot garage, so I believe a four post is out of the question. Any opinions on a low/mid rise lift? When lookng at pictures, it looks like you cannot service the car directly underneath with a low/mid rise lift. If there is anyone using a four post lift in an eight foot ceiling height, which model and manufacturer? I have also looked a the kwick lift, but it doesn't seem to get the car very high for the price. 20 inches I believe! Thanks in advance!

I don't think you have enough height to stand under the car with a 8' ceiling but it could work with a creeper or creeper seat. Try these web sites. Hope this helps. http://www.bendpak.com/Default.htmhttp://www.liftusa.com./
Nice garage !!
Also check out this site......they're cheaper and also workable. The adjustable is even taller than the Kwiklift.... http://www.autolifters.com
We purchased a BendPac SP 7X scissors lift this summer. It's totally awesome. Our garage is too small width wise to fit any of the 4-post lifts and a second car along side it. It's also too low to double stack cars. With the scissors lift, it lifts from the frame rails on the side. You can add risers to the lift to get at the frame rails if you need to. The entire surface is rubber padded. The wheels are free for working on suspension - it lifts inbetween. You can access the entire underside of the car as there is nothing going side to side at car level, so you can drop exhaust, X-members, transmissions, rear ends etc... There's a hefty torsion bar at the bottom to equilibrate the 2 sides of the lifts. It's an industrial one and must be bolted to the floor and weighs at least a ton. ;) The thing is a hell of a lot more stable than I ever imagined. With the car on it and the lift at max height you can push sideways and there is NO motion of the car or lift. The operational height for us is limited by our ceiling - the lift goes high enough you can stand under the car if we put the windshield through the ceiling into the master bath upstairs. ;) The locks are pneumatic and the electric is 220V. I think they had a 110V version too, but we had the hot juice in the garage for the welder already so we just added another circuit to the sub panel for the lift.
