Thinking about buying a set of race ramps. A bit pricey for sure but at least made in USA. Checking the approach angle for my 1990 I get 9.5 deg. but not sure of the accuracy on that. The model ramp I was looking at was the 56", 10.8 degree. Anyone have experience with one of these? From reviews it looks like it would work.
Sections of 2x12 boards work pretty good in combination with ramps.
Thanks- Have a couple of jack stands but not a low profile floor jack. Thought the ramps may work better with a 2 car garage with two cars and not a lot of room. Not sure which way to go just yet. Took a look at some low profile floor jacks. Many to choose from and wide range of prices. Any favorites out there? I don't see anything that would work from the front but possibly from the side. The jack would allow more types of maintenance, brakes, etc..The ramp may be more limited as to what you can work on. No doubt the ideal thing would be to have both but right now expenses on the C4 will do.
I prefer side jacking with stands and jack from Harbor Freight, though with the recent recalls, will get new stands somewhere else. Quick, easy and also easy to go higher when needed (She is currently 18" off the floor while I'm rebuilding engine). If you can open the doors and get out, can side jack side IMO.
