Time to buy new plug wires. I'm gonna buy MSD 8.5 mm Super Conductors cuz I've heard they're a good plug wire for a good price. I looked at Summit and they range from $60 - $80 or so.
My mechanic said don't get the race ones (not radio suppressing wires)
He said no to get the Universal fit ones ( won't fit properly)
He did say to get one for my application.
Hmm, 1989 Corvette, which wires? Does someone have a part # so I can order the proper wires for my engine?
I installed the splitfire double 8.5mm wires...over a year ago....still working great.....
If I could do over again would buy the MSD wires....but for now everything is ok....
Are parts more expensive in Canada?????? I know they charge you more for the USA Mag's.....but ......
just would like to know about you guys up there...
thanks

You can call Summit and they will knwo or call MDS direct. I have them on my 89 and I like them. No complaints at all. I a few different brands and these were the best for me.
I recently put on the MSD 8.5s Super Conductors and am very happy with them. Of course, I also changed the looms as 65Z01 suggests. I used the Made-4-You looms. They look real nice too! No problemo with the radidio!
i ended up going with the jacobs brand on my engine after researching a few types, i would not recomend them to anyone else, they were weird to assemble and i never really felt confident with them making good contact :nonod:
taylors work great till you spill oil & grime on them, after that they leak current like a siv & will have your engine misfiring and detonating. the msd 8.5 mm superconductor fits wonderful. i used the 90deg HEI set, there's nothing special about a corvette engine, it's a basic small block HEI.
If you want to purchase the MSD 8.5's for your 89 in Canada, then call Bolt-On Performance in Bolton 905-857-3333 or got to http://www.bolt-on.com. They sell for $135 Cdn and you can pick them up if you are ever in the Toronto area.
Thanks for all the replies, but I ordered the Taylor Spiro Pro wires from the Corvette Mall a few days ago. Ill let you know how they end up. If they're no good, I'll go with the MSD 8.5 as I had originally planned.
MSD 8.5's really do only have 50 ohms of resistance per foot, that's no joke. They also don't create any radio whine and believe me with all my extra stereo wiring I would get it before anybody else would.
