exhaust leak ??? odd sound ???
I think I have a massive exhaust leak but can't seem to find it....
I get this VERY LOUD puff/putt/tiss type of steam engine sound while DRIVING.... I don't hear it while i rev the engine. The sound seems to be coming from the driver's side. I have a broken cat to exhaust pipe bolt but don't feel anything leaking around the cat and I don't hear the sound either.. The sound only presents itself while I drive. I can put the clutch in while driving and the sound goes away as the RPMs drop. The sound's speed increases with the increase of RPMs and the length of the sound decreases as the RPMs increase. My money is on a leak around the cat but I don't see any black marks on the pipe, don't feel anything leaking around the pipe, and can't hear the sound around that area...
Would else would cause a sound like this?
