Default A/C Parts Question

Hey all, after much thought I am going to replace the original A/C system in the car with the new compressor kit that Rock Auto sells. It comes with a new compressor, drier, orifice tube, and o rings. It does not include the evap core or condenser. My question is, can I "flush" the evap core and condenser and use them with the new system? I am aware that I will have to flush old oil out of the lines as well but I just didn't want to purchase a new evap core and condenser if I didn't have to. I know it would be best to just replace everything but that creeps the bill up close to $1000 and I'm starting to get the side eye from the other half, lol!

It can be flushed, that's what I did.
There's all kinds of flushes available and the residential ones will work for cars. Just be aware they are not cheap.
Good luck!
Remember to use the correct oil!!!!

It depends on the year. If the condenser is a parallel core type, you can't flush it. Assuming they are good (no leaks) you can leave them and use ester oil instead of PAG as it will not cause issues from mixing.

Just peak and see if it is a tube and fin type or not. If it is you're good. The parallel type ones are flat on the ends. I don't remember but either 88 or 89 is an odd ball system for the condenser. Most part sites list it as different. I flushed my evap but replaced my condenser because I went to the parallel flow.
