Add On Gauges - Any Pics??
I'm putting mechanical gauges in my 84 4+3; oil press, H2O temp, volts, vacuum, OD oil temp, fuel press, +++ ?
I'm thinking of putting 2 5/8" Auto Meters in the dash where the 'bread box' is and in the center console where the 'cup' holders are.
I'd love to see what others have done to get some ideas before I start.
TIA
:D :D :chevy :chevy

I bought an extra a-pillar last week to use as a spare. I'm thinking Oil and OD Temp.
I like the Ultra Lite!

(a little more than an "add-on").

I like the total switch to analog! How did you handle the ECM interface; or did you go to carb and ditch the ECM?
I haven't figured out where all the screws /bolts are for the top of the dash and pass knee bolster, when I do I'll check the clearance for a CD changer in the bread box area. That is after I've put all the gauges I want in there!
Thanks.
Should I try it on my C4??

with an Accel Gen 7 DFI (you can see the ECM in the far right of the pic),
and using a TPIS miniram on a new engine... (kinda doing a major rebuild
on the car).
The speedo is electronic and runs straight off the sensor on the transmission.
The tach runs off the MSD box.
The oil pressure gauge (between the tach and speedo) is mechanical, and
the only reason I went with that is to get a full sweep gauge that kinda goes
with the full sweep of the tach and speedo (for looks). If they'd made a full sweep electric
oil pressure gauge I'd rather do that than run an oil line into the car.
The water temp and oil temp run off their own sensors.
The volt gauge and fuel level are spliced into the main wire harness. The
factory fuel level sender works fine, and I just found the wire under the
dash coming from it and tapped into that.
And all the gauge lights are hooked up to the reostat on the light switch so
they can be dimmed.
Yes, I really like the analog gauges too. The only thing I just can't stand about
the early C4s is the electronic bar graph dash. And I fixed that. Otherwise, an
awesome ride. :yesnod:
Thanks,
Dan
