Can anyone tell me some info on the 95 Corvette (lt6) model automatic? What kind of times did these pull? I have been searching around and have not found the stats of this model corvette with an lt6 motor in it only the lt1 and zr1 models and thats it. Does this model exist? I am trying to do some research for an upcoming race. Thanks for all help/knowledge.

No surprise I knew the kid was a moron. So the only motor options were the LT1 and the ZR-1 correct? So with the LT1 in automatic form it is probably a low 14sec car with a moderate to decent driver am I correct? Thanks a lot guys ;)

Lower. LT1's can be mid 13 or high 12's easy depending on the weather and traction.
maybe there is some confussion? the ZR1 is the model and it has an LT5 engine. although you said 'automatic' which would exclude the ZR1. no zr1 automatics or convertibles.
There is a lot of trivia in the world of Corvettes... and a lot of "experts" who know all about them...
ya... right.
the 1953's were made of metal... I have a number of "experts" tell me that one...
To quickly summarize:
in 1995, there were 2 engines.
300 hp/340 ft-lbs - LT1 available with either a 4spd auto or 6spd ZF manual
405 hp/375 ft-lbs - LT5 available only with the 6spd manual. (is the torque right?)
The LT5 is the famed ZR1 engine. 32 valve DOHC 5.7 litre V8. Designed by GM/Lotus and built by Mercury Marine.
The LT1 is the so called Gen II small block. 5.7 litre (350ci) small block V8, pushrod.
The only rear gear available with the 6spd was a 3.45:1, in a Dana 44 differential. This is the same diff used in the Viper.
The auto came standard with a 2.59, and had a performance option of 3.07, both installed in a Dana 36.
Now, to add insult to injury, in 1996, GM ditched the LT5, and created an upgrade of the LT1 called the LT4.
Like the LT5, it came only with a 6spd. Apparently, a couple snuck out of Bowling Green with A4's, but they are not officially on the books.
The LT4 was rated at 330hp, and I don't remember the torque. However, the engine was really putting out closer to 350-360. The reason? The 1997 Corvette was due with a 345hp LS1, and GM didn't want to leave the impression that their new car was somehow inferior to the outgoing model.
You guys are mentioning high 12's to mid 13's but that is on 6 speed models correct? With the auto I am assuming it to be a bit higher or is the mid 13's the estimate for autos and high 12s for the manuals? Thanks a lot for all the info guys : )

yer welcome....
The A4 and M6 will be about the same for ET, the trap speeds will be lower with the A4, tho.
Expect to loose 2-3 mph at the end over an M6 equiped.
Now, a bad A4 driver will eat a bad M6 driver all day long... as we all know, the skill of driving a stick is higher...
and as 95wht6spd said, they are much more consistant.
oh, and in 1992, all Corvettes came standard with traction control. Its a Bosch unit. Works pretty good at saving your bacon in the rain!

Most auto or manual Lt1's pull mid 13's at best STOCK.
There are 'SOME' freaks out there that are like Mojo's though.. :jester
Great thanks again everyone for all of the input! The only thing that this kid mentioned that is done to the corvette is a shift kit and thats it. (it's his father) We did a quick race about a week or so ago from about 50-75 and I was slowly pulling in front of him before he let off but he is bound determined he has me beat so I am going to have to see which car is faster. So I had to do my homework! If any of you care about what I will be driving for the race it is a 92 Dodge Stealth twin turbo 6 cylinder with a boost controller (12psi) intake, and the main cat removed. Stock the stealth is a high 13 sec car and with these mods should be about mid 12's.... Thanks again everyone and I will try to remember to post about the outcome if we hit the track! Take care

:seeya
If you are serious about who has the fastest car, or who is the best driver, and the race is close enough to be disputed by one driver, as you last race was.......TAKE IT TO THE TRACK>
that way, you have a controlled inviroment, timing lights to prove driver ability, and lights at the end to prove who got there 1st, vs whos cat is "fastest" etc
Stock for stock, your Stealth vs an LT1 Vette is a pretty fair fight. AWD traction vs 600 less lbs.
I would suggest, if you have not done this already, is a complete change over to sythetic lubes. The Mitsubishi's had a horrible reputation for blowing up manual gearboxes in those things... Eclipse Turbos, too...
You guys are funny lol : ) Im more than happy to say this guy I don't know personally thank god, his stupidity could leak onto me :p: lol anyways yean I do need to swap to synthetic fluids currently lol but dont have all the cash for it yet.... I mean its only 80 dollars just for the engine oil! : P thanks again guys
