1996 Brake Booster
Today I was working on something else so I decided to try something. I took the vacuum line off of the intake manifold leaving it still connected to the check valve on the booster and sucked on it like it was a straw. I could freely pull air through it. It never got hard to pull air through. It's like a wide open straw. When I blow into it the check valve stops all air and it wont pass. But if I pull its just wide open. Would you suspect a leak?
It is a crappy autozone one. But since I have read so many horror stories I decided to buy local so I could switch out if I run into this problem.
What do you think?
Thank you
Doug

I did it with a MITYVAC took about 20 minutes with the wheels off. Followed the manual's instructions on which ones to do in what order - 1-RR 2-LR 3-FR 4-FL and number 3 let go of a ton of air!!
