Default upgrading ignition system

I did a search and noticed that most of you like the msd 8.5 superconductor wires.Ignition coil i think i am going to go with the hypertech.What ignition module do you like.Would a aftermarket module be any better than the old stock one?Thanks for any info

MSD coil from Jegs...MSD 6A, Msd wires (8.5 blue's)........works well.....

Enough said.....what do you think???????


Spark plugs are up to you......I use splitfire...

I too was wondering about ignition system. What kind of gains are there in upgrading it, if any? I know it starts quicker, but is that all?

The stock setup is great up to about 5500 RPM which is higher than any stock L98 will be spinning anyways. If you decide to go with a hotter coil though, make sure to get a low resistance HEI bushing to go with it.
