I have a 94 LT1 and I have been having an electrical problem that comes and goes. I want to buy a scanner to see what the problem is. I have been told that the 94 doesn't store error codes because of an OBD1 computer. On the other hand, I have been told that I can buy a scanner and an error code will come up. I read that I can not use the jumper and use flash codes. Could someone set me straight on what's up? Also, if I was to go and buy a scanner, what type should I buy? Do they also, make a scanner and programmer for my eprom chip? Knew all the good bros here on the board would be able to give me good advice. Thanks
Edd

IMHO the best solution is to buy an interface cable from AKM cables (link Below) & download the trial version of Datamaster (link below). The cable is about $100 & the Datamaster trial software is free, it gives you 25 recording sessions from your cars PCM. It will capture any DTC's your car is setting plus much more. If you have a laptop you can cruise around & record data & review it later. If you don't have a laptop you can run a long RS232 extension cable from your home PC to the garage/driveway & record what data you can get at idle/no load. http://www.mindspring.com/~amattei/akmelect.htmhttp://www.ttspowersystems.com/dm_dload.htm :)

Thanks guys, I will check these options out. Then, I guess, the answer is that you can get info off the OBD1. Guess, people were just gettin me confused for nothing.heheh THanks Guys. Downloading to the laptop seems to be a good idea. :)
