OBD-1 Trans help needed
Hello all, this is my first time posting in this part of the forum.
Car: 1995 coupe, auto, 307 rear
I tried all morning to tune the computer so that I can get the 2-3 shift at WOT right, but no matter what changes I made, the car still will not shift. My current mods are a Yank Sportsman Pro transmission, 2800 Vig. converter, 315-35 tires and a catback. The 1-2 shift is firm and precise, no problems there, but when it comes to the 2-3 shift, the tach goes up to 5600, then all of a sudden, its like the car hits neutral, the tach swings (literally!) over to what looks like 6500. I ran diacom on it and with the rev limiter raised to 6600 (1000 past stock), shift points lowered to 67mph (10 less than stock), the car still will not shift.
Any help would be greatly appreciated !!!

Part throttle is ok, I feared the same thing. its not until I go WOT that the problem presents itself. Looks like a call to Yank on monday morning......

Hey,
Your problem sounds scarily similar to mine...except my tanny is 86000 miles old (18 years). i have the exact smae simptom as you are describing. Excpet i hear a clunk when i let off the gas when my tach spikes. It only happens at WOT. Its very odd. Any ideas?? (TV cable what is it????)
