I am not sure on this, but just wanted to see if it were possible. I think 96 ecm's are programable. Is there some software out where it can be done yourself via a pc, or does it need to programmed by a company(eg.superchips).
Re: Ecm reprogramming or do it yourself? (STL94LT1)
Thats kinda expensive, I really didn't wanna spend $2700 bucks to do it myself. But the price is understandable. Guess I will find someone locally or send it out. That is my only other option.
Re: Ecm reprogramming or do it yourself? (STL94LT1)
I see that now, much better price. Looks alittle invovled though. Im not sure about what are the timing and fuel curves. That might get tricky. Looks like alot of test and tuning unless someone else here wants to give up there test and tune specs. Or maybe the software lets you enter in the specs of the cam versis a stock one, and adjusts things accordingly.

i had mine done at a place called westers garage in tilley alberta, it was onlyabout $275 CAN ($160 U.S.) and the guy was great to deal with :yesnod:
Re: Ecm reprogramming or do it yourself? (atotalnincompoop)
It can be tricky. One should consider having a good reason to modify the chip. Factory folks do it all the time. Unless you have modified the stock set up, have a narrow application, understand combustion dynamics, chip software, etc, I would leave it alone. LIke modifying any software. Be carefull.
