Ive had a few people ask over the years about the 6 point roll bar i installed in my 88 coupe. I tried to email pics, but this old 'puter is slowly dying. So i decided to put them up here after digging them all up.
Couple things.
1- this was done when i still lived in Fl. I think it was in 2004ish?
2- I would have done swing out bars but at the time, they were not legal in any class, and i wanted to X cross it.
3- The 'kit' was from jegs, and was nothing more than a pre-bent hoop, and a pallet of steel tubing as no one at the time made a kit for it.
4- If anyone needs angle numbers i can get them.
5- The targa top still stores in the rear.
6- The frame is galvanized so keep that in mind when you go to weld.
7- Dont bust on my welds! We did go back and tig some of them.
8- i only drove the car 50 miles before i tore it down, so i dont know how much of a difference it made. I know the car feels tight as hell.
Looks better than any garbage I could throw together!! I bet it really ties things in nicely
How the hell do you get out of it though its hard enough lol

Actually getting in and out is not bad. The bar isnt all that restrictive believe it or not. Once the uphostery gets done the bar will have a nice pad on it. It makes a great and comfortable arm rest.
