ZF6 mods/upgrades?
Hey again all,
Are there any upgrades or mods anyone can do to a ZF6 tranny? Sure, I know about disconnecting the CAGS plug, but is there anything I can do to the internals to beef it up? Can I alter the shift linkage at all for shorter shifts? Anyone know of any source for info or parts on this tranny? Lots of questions, hopefully I'll get alot of answers!!

There are a few shifter options, the Hurst and the B&M are the most common. It's a love hate thing on them. Generally if you have one you love it and hate the other. Personally I side with the B&M. It has absolutely the shortest shifts, nobody can argue that regardless of what else they will tell you is wrong with it.

Apparently not as a blow-proof bellhousing, though you can use a blanket type.

TTT- anyone else have any info on ZF6 internals? I checked out zfdoc, but I doubt he's gonna share all that good info, as I'd be picking his brain without anything in return! But that is one heck of a good website he has there.

There is not a scattershiled made for a ZF. Also, http://www.whiteracingproducts.com/ has ZF parts.

If you know a good machinist, you can find a Lakewood that has the right dimensions and modify it.
That is the only solution I've found to date. I'll be working on that next....

I'm quite impressed with that White Racing site. I'm gonna have to give that fella a call and see what he has to say in the way of his offered upgrades. Some of them are really neat- cross drilled gears, TiN coating, cryogenic freezing...very impressive!
