I have a 91 L98. I have a code 41 and no start problem. I bought a remanufactured ECM and a new distributor. the engine will start with starting on startup fluid. Also no fuel for 2 seconds. new fuel pump and all relays checked ok. Is this an ECM problem or something else?
My 86 FSM states:
Ignition off
Disconnect ECM connections
Probe terminal D1, D3, D10, A12 with a test light connected to 12 volts
Light on = faulty connections or faulty mem-cal
Light off = repair open ground at circuit 450
A12, D1, D3, D10 are all circuit 450 which is ground for ECM and other items

did you short pins A-G to get an H 41? if so, I agree with above to reseat the memcal. ECM r&r also reseats the 4 plugs to the ECM which could help. But with replacement ECMs and distributor you seem way past that.
Do both ECMs, and both distributors, give the same conditions??
I had a H41 pop up while driving, went to limp mode, drove a mile and made it home barely. My H41 did not cause a no start condition, engine still started, but very rough. I reseated, and it went away, back to normal. I was in the ECM last year when I burned my chip so was already familiar with it.
H 41 is loss of ECM serial data communications, for those of you keeping score..
