Yes you are correct. It has the motors. The seat is in my 1985 which is on Guam awaiting shipment to NJ. Downstairs I have a seat bottom from my 84. I don't remember what was wrong with it. I figured I would send this one out and get it fixed. So when the car gets here. I can just swap them out.
It is usually the plastic drive screws in the track transmission that wears out. Eckler’s Corvettes sell both complete rebuilt tracks or just the transmission. Complete power seat track is $231.99 or you can buy just the gear style power seat track transmission for $174.99 or $165.99 depending on if you have the small end gear or the large end gear.
You can on line to their website and see what they sell.
Common problem so a fix is readily. available.
I think that is what is wrong with the 1985 seat. I have take a look at the one I have here. I was hoping to be able to find just the part. But, such is life.
Yes the motors seldom have issues it is usually the gears in the track. First it will start to click for a while while moving and then it stops completely. The right and left side are identical and interchangeable so if you do not care about the passenger side you can at least get the drivers side to work. Of course that assumes the passenger side is still working. It is really just the driver seat that is important to be able to adjust since the passenger should just be happy to ride in the car.
Well in this car only the drivers seat is power. So if I fix it. Then I will fix the one that is in the car and both seats will be power. Even the lucky passenger's seat.
Thank you and have a great day
