Its time to replace both battery cables on my 1985 corvette and I cant determine if the negative cable connects to the back of the drivers side head below the wiper motor or to one of the bell housing bolts? I believe if ther ground cable is on the rear of the head you need to remove the wiper motor, so I hope the 1985 vette has it ob the bell housing bolt. If mine is on the head.....is it a good idea to run the new ground cable to a bell housing bolt and leave the old cable attached to the head?
I am not sure on an 85 but on my 90 the negative is attached to a bolt on the block just below the head. Negative cable was the easy one, the positive snaking over the bellhousing to the starter was more of a pain.
Hi guys...thank you all for the replies. I hope mine is also located low on the passenger side bell housing rather than on drivers side head right below the wiper motor. That is a pain in the butt to get to.. I do see other ground wires going t o a bolt on the drivers side head but they dont appear to be of a large enough gauge to be the battery ground. Will have to take a look later at the passenger side bell housing bolts to see if I see it connected there.
Have a great weekend
