Default One press window down

Are there switches available that allow you to roll the Windows down with one press? Kind of like how most modern cars have for the drivers window.

Its not as simple as switch, You need some type of body control module (BCM) that detects when the window motor has stop moving when it reaches its lower limit (stopped) (no limit switch)

Usually I try and not corrupt other folks threads, but why ? I despise the new switches. Maybe I am just too heavy handed or something, but I like the ability to control the windows without having them go all the way down when I just want an inch or two.

Cars with the "auto down" can do both

ive got express down on driver and passenger windows. You need to buy the module from a wrecked car and wire it in. If you want both sides, you need two modules.

I couldn't agree more. I f*cking despise any machine or device that either thinks it's smarter than I am (even if it's true. Maybe especially if it's true), or thinks it knows how I want it to behave. Electric window motors that don't respond immediately to switch open/closed conditions drive me batshit crazy. Trying to get a window open 1/2 inch on most modern vehicles is an exercise in supreme irritation, and not what I should need to be distracted wrestling with while driving.

Live well,

SJW

Duh. I fight with them all the time on my wife's 2018 Equinox. I despise them.

With that said, there are aftermarket solutions to this. Such as:

https://www.autoloc.com/catalog/prod...--(Up-AND-Down

you can also get a part out of an old Taurus and use it for conversions

I must be in the minority I’ve never had any issues with the one touch buttons. Maybe it varies by brand but my Mazda has a kind of secondary switch that provides a bit of resistance to let you know you’re using the auto feature.

ahhh I understand some of these responses now. I was hoping to find a switch that had an auto down switch integrated into it.

Would the above modules force a press in any direction to automatically go all the way up or down?

Corvette has only ever had express down. Never express up. Most American cars only have express up on the driver side.

The part number you are looking for is 12088564. You will need to purchase the connector to go along with it and have some thick gauge wiring. I built my own harness, so it was plug and play.

I learned something new today. My 96 has express down. It takes pressure and time and it will go. Not like my wife's car where I touch it and the windows go down. Then up, down, up. They are too sensitive for me.

On the newer cars, press down for express, when you want it to stop, press down again.

My Ram Pickup has express up and down on front driver and passenger window which activate if switches are pushed all the way up or down, Just holding partially up or down to control if you only want up or down a specific amount or do as ChumpVette says. I really like the feature.
