I just got diacom and am trying to get it to work on my '86 corvette. I am using it with a Sony GRX670 laptop running windows XP. My problem is that when I get to the screeen where you select "link" if I press "enter" the program locks up and I can't do anything. Just before this, when I was trying to conect for the first time, it said, "eror, communications cable not present", even though I had the tpi adapter connected to the parallel adapter and it plugged into the "printer" port on my laptop per the instructions. I also hooked up the 12V lead to teh cigarette lighter. Diacom is closed and I sure would like to get it working tonight! any help would be greatly appreciated!
You have to make an emergency boot disk that puts DOS on a floppy and then you start your portable with the disk in. Wa La - you are back in the DOS world. If I am not mistaken, when you load diacom it makes a (.bat) file in your root directory that will start the program.
