Running Carbs on a Root SC
Has anybody converted their crossfire into a Carb fuel Engine instead of TBI's. If anybody has can you still pass smog?
OR if not Carbs, anybody out there put a Roots Type Supercharger on their Vette?

Hey Joby, would a 670CFM TB Injector unti(2bbls) have the same potential to provide enough power as a 4bbl 670CFM Carb? I think they would be the same, right?

Re: Running Carbs on a Root SC (Light84vette)
I know that with a true fuel injection, such as TPI a throttle body that flow 670 CFM will outflow a 670 CFM carb by a good magin, I can't remember by how much, its a percentage like 15%. It's becuase of the throttle body is flowing only air, not the air/fuel mix like a carb. I don't know if this applies to TBI though?
Of cource this is all of my not so hot memory, so there might be some errors

Re: Running Carbs on a Root SC (Light84vette)
Actually not. The 4bbl carb is measured at 1.5" Hg vacuum and the 2bbl TBI is measured at 3" Hg of vacuum. That would translate to something like 470 CFM at 1.5" Hg vacuum.

So a Carb would have more flow and potential for power than a TB Injector?onsidering they have the same 670CFM.
