Hello, I've been battling a noisy front suspension. I believe i have it narrowed down to the front spring. When i shoot some water on the end of the spring (spring pad - meeting control arm) and on the spring retainer section (where the spring bolts to the frame), the noise is gone - but temporarily. Next step would be some white lithium grease in the retainer/frame section. Spring itself looks great.
Question is .. are the spring retainers supposed to be lubed? Are the ends of the spring (spring pads) supposed to be lubed? I cant find anything that suggest it's supposed to be.
Suspension makes a nasty sound when hitting sizable dips in road. I don't want to gum up this area with grease if I've gotta do something else.
