AM radio static
91 stock six speed convertible. Ignition on, bad AM static. Ignition off, no static. Whether the engine is running or not makes no difference in the static. I have searched the threads, no luck. Were should I start looking for the static. The radio is a JVC double din with map, cd, ect. put in eleven years ago. All works as it should except ignition on AM. It always had a little static but it is getting worse. Again, ignition off good strong clear AM signal. As a side note the car is coming up on 200K miles and has to be one of the best cars I've ever owned. Been driving Corvettes since I was a teenager in the 60s.
