Default code 42 (where is module?)

Hey guys.. I need to know where the ignition control module is located on my car. My car flipped code 42 lastnight, and i need help. Im at my g/fs house and dont have my shop manual handy. If anyone could point me in the right direction i would much appreciate. Car is an 84, an seems to be running fine. I just dont want a code popping up. I did a search in the archives, and found a lot of info, just not where the module is located. I want to pull it out and have parts store test it for me. Thanks guys

Looking at my Haynes manual it looks as though the ingnition module is fastened to the dist base by two screws. Remove the dist cap and rotor to access it.

On the L98 engines we have a Tan/Blk wire that we open to set base ignition timing, which runs into this module. If you also have this wire, you should be able to see where it goes into the dist.

Code 42 can come up if that wire jim mentioned is unplugged when you start the car. Check there. :)

Im going out now to check it out.. I will get back to ya guys. As far as the light coming on.. I was just driving down the road, probably 12-15 miles from my house and it just popped on.. the next light that i came to, i shut car off, and restarted. Light turned off, and i have not seen it since. I have driven approximately 85 miles since shutting the car off lastnight after light popped on. Is that normal? Maybe that wire is loose.. I going to find out.. bbl.. thanx guys!!
