No one said anything about achieving 100% efficient drivetrains (except you), and no on would because that's beyond the realm of absurd. It's the same L98 drivetrain with the same losses. The diff (for the astute readers among us) is in the EXHAUST system, Aklim...in the EXHAUST system. O.K., now I'm going to slid the spoon out, so don't dribble any on your bib.

Out of all the horse manure you posted -and all of your posting IS, horse manure, this takes the cake....

Right after you laid down this very precisely recorded testing data:

Dyno jet dyno in Orem UT. That's at ~4200' elevation and it was on a ~95* F day. Engine temp was ~175*F on the first pull and climbed to about 210 on the last pull although all 3 produced about the same results. Better? Of course it won't be.
So be specific. Not my problem you aren't.

I thought I made it clear that the cat back wasn't the choke point in post 30? Then in post 35, I clarified it again. He did mention he lived in an apartment so I assumed that building an exhaust system was not a good idea.

As to the spark, I did try an Accel 300+ and borrowed an MSD. Back then, in an L98 F-body I would make runs to Chicago. Mostly interstate. Fill up at the gas station, drove to Chicago and back. Gas mileage increase didn't happen. Not sure what to say. Tried with an MSD for a few runs. Nothing noticeable. I figured that on road conditions, either it was so slight that you won't notice any significant effect or it didn't help. We tried it on a dyno but only 2 runs and the averaged out to about 1 tenth of a HP difference? It was a while ago so it might not be totally accurate. Besides, we were killing dyno time we booked so why not try it connected and disconnected?

Don't speak for me, please. As I mentioned, but you didn't want to accept, if you had a "before and after", there wouldn't be any dispute of the methodology, would there? BTW, I did back to back runs on the F-body with a connected exhaust and without. I even tried it with a Borla XR1 muffler hooked up. I suspected that it would be better if I could have removed the bends but just a guess since I didn't have a way to test that theory out.

For a $2000 budget, I suggested headers and a used good intake and maybe he might have to add a few hundred more. He gets another $1000, he can get himself a Borla system that claims to give 41% more flow and according to Vader, get the 10 HP and I would suspect, with the mods up front, maybe more.

Hopefully, everyone else can "Get it" and find the value of my exhaust post....even if you can't. As you were Aklim.

If you are expecting that I take your word as gospel truth, I have news for you. I don't even take the gospel as truth. If your point can't stand up to a question, I guess I'll have to try harder to accept your words as gospel truth.

If I need to find an answer, I guess I can consult, and pay if need be, a speed shop.

My point stands on it's own, to a normal person.

My expectation for you Aklim, was for you to be "as you were".

You continue to do that, exquisitely.

And?

Good to know I have satisfied your expectations. Not sure what it gets but, who knows.

When my employer who signs my paycheck sells it, I will say that it adds 6 HP
