I just got my completely stock 1991 coupe from another forum member. Planning to change Ujoints.
I see several corvette vendors sell them like Zip, Corvette Central, etc.
Any recommendations on source/brand?
It will be gently used. No racing, no hot rodding. Driving Miss Daisy type riding.

Go to Denny's driveshaft and order the Spicer coated, non-greasable U-joints for your halfshafts (53615X) and/or driveshaft (don't have that part number handy). These are the longest-lasting ones you can get. Second best is probably Moog, again making sure to get coated and non-greasable.
You're right, at its base, it is just a Chevrolet.
Unfortunately, my local parts stores seem to routinely provide the wrong parts or its Chinese made, cheap garbage.
I don’t mind paying a little extra for the good stuff, I just want to get the correct part. Unlikely from my locals.
I could go Rock Auto and get GM stuff, but even that is often Chinese made now. I just changed the water pump on my wife’s 99 Vert. Took off the old GM OEM pump stamped “Made in Mexico” and replaced it with the Rock Auto purchased AC-Delco OEM pump stamped, wait-for-it....”Made in China”. Yea. So much for bringin it home!
Anyway, if anyone has had good personal experience with quality Ujoints that fit this model 91 base Coupe, I would appreciate the recommendation.

X2 on this^^^
Solid non-greasable. If you don't want to order from Denny's, get the part numbers and order from RockAuto or Amazon.
I ordered my 1350 chromoly pinion yoke from Denny's recently. It qualified for free shipping. They ended up shipping it 2nd day air from NY to Texas at no extra charge. Excellent service.
Looking around at the various sources for the Spicer 53615X. I see some say “coated” while some either don’t mention it or say “uncoated”.
I would order from Denny’s but they only have 2. Rock A has them but say uncoated. Auto Zone can get them but don’t mention coating.
I will just call Denny’s and see if there are different versions.
Thanks.
The uncoated version of the same U-joint is part # 5-1350X. However, it can't hurt to call them and verify. Like I said before, I'm not really sure how critical the coating is.
