Hey guys, yesterday while on the road I turned on my hazards on my ‘95 and they would not turn off. The collar around the button would slide but the button would not come up from its “on” position and thus the hazards would stay on. I had to pull the fuse which turned them off but the same fuse that controls the hazards, control the brake lights, so this is not a good fix. Unless I hear another option, right now I plan on removing the hazard light flasher which I hear could kill the hazards all together.
Anybody have experience with this situation? Is there a less evasive fix than removing the flasher?
Ok I get it the collar has a light spring tension and you feel it should release with a slight tug. But it sometimes requires a little more of a tug. Because the collar is not a release lever and the amount of force sometimes needed is like pulling thumb tack out of a stud

I am not home with my car right now so I cannot immediately test this but I would love for that to be the solution. I definitely am very gentle with it. I will try when I am home. Thank you, Happy Thanksgiving.
I hadn't seen this thread earlier. Agreed with carter; on my '95, the hazard button requires a decent amount of force to push in, and requires quite a bit of force pulling on the collar to click it back off again. Much more effort than any other car I've ever owned.

Hopefully that is the case for me as well. Thank you for your feedback I will let you know if it works.

I got home tonight and took apart the hazard button/collar system and then tried pulling and adjusting many times which eventually resulted in it clicking into place. I am usually very gentle with my car and this time to a fault. Thanks to both of you guys for your help, maybe we’ll talk again on here soon.

Hey, Sir!
my 94's problem is that I can't push in this button at all. I don't feel any spring or somthing like a normal switch. does it require lot of force to push it?
