Default ECU Chip Removal

What is the safest method to remove the chip. I've changed chips on Grand Nationals before, but can't get this one to budge by hand. Don't want to damage the chip or ECU.

If you press the blue tab and the white tab on the ends of the adapter, it should eject the whole thing like a cassette tape. The chip itself may be soldered to the adapter board and not be removable alone.

Going by the photo, that's an aftermarket adapter, and should eject as stated above. However the chip appears to be in a socket and not soldered to the adapter, so it should be easily removable so you can read it, make changes, burn a new chip, etc.

Looks like an aftermarket board. I had one that could not be removed unless the whole computer box was taken apart.
