Just bought a 1990 vert and drove it home 6 hours with no problems. The issue I have is that if I blip the throttle it will either almost stall and then recover or stall. It always restarts no problem and seems to idle pretty good but maybe a bit high. Any ideas where to start?
My friend’s 90 had worn out injectors when his was doing that. But that diagnosis would come after some testing. If you don’t already, get the official GM Service Manual off eBay or somewhere, a good quality digital ohm meter and fuel pressure gauge, and start reading this forum!!!
Worn out? How? If it had Multecs, I would think so.
I'd get the PDF one that is searchable.
Fuel pressure gauge you can buy cheaply or get a loaner tool.
After trying new TPS and CTS, he told me he and his mechanic friend tested them and said some were going to ground when hot or something (it’s been a while since we discussed this). He changed them all several years ago and has had no problems since. I expect to see him this weekend, I will ask him.
I can’t recall the specifics which is why I recommended to the OP to start diagnostics with the manual, goods tools, and this forum.

Multecs have been said to short out because they are fuel cooled and the ethanol eats away at the insulation on the windings. They weren't designed around ethanol so that could be an issue.
