Default injector resistance variation

how much variation can there be in order for injectors to be functioning properly in a c4?

example, every cyl is 15.8-16.0 except 7 & 8, which are 11.2 and 14.2 respectively.

Would we expect the 11.2 in cyl to still “run” or would that be enough of a variance to cause major runability issues?

Fwiw, i have checked for injector leakdown, there is none.

Cheers. VT.

What is the resistance when the injectors are at engine operating temp? And below 12, it needs to be replaced.

Don't know. If you could check for injector leakdown, the output values should tell you if it is functioning or not. Kinda why I never bother to check. If it flows well in a bench, that is about all I care about unless someone can point out more.

There IS more. There is a coil inside there. It needs to work. If the resistance is out of whack, that is an indicator the the coil don't work no more. It's a lot easier to check the resistance through the coil, than it is to do the test that you're describing.

I don't disagree with that at all. That all said, isn't there more to the injector that the coil? IOW, does "the coil works" equal "the injector is functioning to spec"? If not, perhaps that extra effort is worth something if you want to know the health of the injector and not just the coil.

If the resistance is low that means part of the insulation is gone on the coil. If for instance the resistance is half of the original value you're only generating a magnetic field with half the coil and the injector is not going to open as fast as it should. One of my injectors was only a third of the resistance and the car still seemed to run fine until I changed them all and was amazed how quickly it started then. If the resistance gets really low you will blow an injector fuse, which is a big problem with the bank fired engines.
