Since I'm going to move to Germany next month and the Grand Sport is coming along for the ride. I want to come up with a care package of stuff that might just break  while i'm overseas. I was told there is one GM dealer ship in Frankfurt! :) but If I can get the little things at lower cost I would like to do that. So far I'm thinking of the following
I replace all 4 wheel bearings about 3000 miles ago. I also plan on having my Victor Racer tires shipped over and maybe I could run some of the euro tracks over there.
I also have a camera mount on order for my roll bar. Going to film some autobahn runs on the digicam and post them.
Keep in mind I'm not paying the shipping costs and I have xxx amount of dollars to play with. The only thing I own (so does the bank) is my car so I'm coming well under the mark... I'm just taking my computers, car, car parts, and suits, shirts, etc...
My car has been in Europe since 1996.I use it for 4 months a year. There are Chevy dealers in most big cities but the parts are never in stock.I would say you should take extra ignition parts, altenator, brake pads,u-joints.You will have a very hard time finding tires for the rear. Will you be driving with the US plates while over there? If yes get vandalism insurance.Being a US citizen overseas is not a very safe thing right now. Will you be living in Frankfurt? My friend lives there, he also has a grandsport. He drives to Greece every summer and we meet there.Where are you shipping from?I shipped from New Jersey to Amsterdam $600.From there it is a day drive to Frankfurt. You also might want to invest in a Bell international radar detector 990 model.Nothing else works they use a different frequency. If you need any more info email me.Sorry for the long post
I just read the bottom of your post about the bank. You are not allowed to ship the car if it has a loan on it,unless the bank gives you release papers for the shipping company.
I don't want to be stupid.....but why are you going to move to Germany???
Transfered or what???????????

Hmmm.... I'll have to check into that on monday then.. If thats the case then I'll have to sell the car. No sense in paying for a car while I'm overseas...
