Default Another headers thread, but for LT4

It seems like the only model-specific headers available for the 96 LT4 are ARH, SW and EM. Are there others that I’m missing? Others that would work on a 96 LT4 with very light modification? Going on a DD with a Magnaflow catback. TIA!

What’s up with these bolt bosses? Are these designed to be used with studs or something? And I’m assuming the primary openings don’t impede flow coming out of the port? Thanks again!

They are made that way so you can use the stock bolts that are removed from the factory manifolds. It also helps with bracket mounting so you do not have to use spacers.

That was the selling point to me. They allow the stock brackets to hook up. The cheap ones don't have the bosses so you have to fab a bracket for you AC, Alt, etc or put washers (ghetto fix, IMO) or build your own bosses.

I noticed the pic of those TPIS headers shows a round flange port; is that not an issue when mated to the D-shaped ports of the LT heads?

Many people use these headers with no adverse results. They will completely cover the D port and the scavenging effect of the headers create better breathing for the engine. Maybe a member who is an engineer in fluid dynamics could tell us how much the eddy of air created by the dissimilar shape impacts the engine but I wouldn’t worry about it.

Not sure if doug rippie still sells headers for the lt1 lt4s but I have a set of DRM/Watson headers that came out of a 96 lt4. They are very well made and bolt up to factory and Flowmaster cat back.

There's always obx too in case you don't want to spend $10k for a set of headers.

For 10K, it better do more than exhaust gas.

I don’t see any C4 headers listed on their website.

I haven’t really considered OBX becauseI’ve seen a lot of negative comments about their fitment.

They fit well for me, but have only had 1 set. I have had them off and on a few times. Apparently it's a crap shoot e them shipping some that for well and some that don't?? My experience has been good Idk.
